Home-cooked comfort food has landed at PHL
PHILADELPHIA — Sept. 24, 2019 — Philadelphia Marketplace, the food and retail shops at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), welcomes Bud & Marilyn’s, located in Concourse C, to its food lineup. The full-service restaurant with a simple focus — great food and drink with genuine hospitality — features a cozy dining area with a large bar in addition to a menu of grab-and-go items. The eatery opened on Friday, Sept. 6, and offers a plethora of options for busy travelers.
Created by Chef Marcie Turney and business partner Valerie Safran, Bud & Marilyn’s is a celebration of American classics. With 20 years in the restaurant business, Chef Turney decided to open a restaurant that touched home for her, an ode of sorts to her grandparent’s popular, but now-closed, restaurant that she grew up in back in Ripon, Wisconsin. She named it “Bud & Marilyn’s” after them. Its warm ambiance and collection of vintage decorations made it an instantly comfortable addition to the Midwest duo’s group of restaurants (others include Barbuzzo, Lolita, Verde, Little Nonna’s and more).
The menu at Bud & Marilyn’s offers hearty shareables such as warm biscuits with honey butter and feel-good food like Grandma’s Chicken Noodle Soup and the Truffled Asparagus Grilled Cheese served with Monterey jack, cheddar, mushrooms, caramelized onions and thyme on toasted sourdough. The extensive offerings feature everything from soups, salads, sandwiches and burgers to thin crust pizza and full entrees. Vegetarian and gluten free options are available. Breakfast is served daily until 10 a.m., and the Fried Chicken N’ Waffles, My Way are served all day, every day!
“Bud & Marilyn’s is known for its American-inspired menu and focuses on simple, well prepared comfort food,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of Philadelphia Marketplace. “We’re so happy to provide travelers this full-service restaurant, offering chef-prepared classics at an affordable cost.
Bud & Marilyn’s at PHL is operated in partnership with Areas G2G PHL JV,LLC, a joint venture of food and beverage and retail services in the travel industry. The restaurant offers travelers an elevated approach to dining in the airport setting and is the newest addition to airport retail developer MarketPlace’s award-winning portfolio at PHL. Bud & Marilyn’s is open daily from 5:15 a.m. to 10:20 p.m.
