“We are eager to launch XpresCheck at Boston Logan International Airport, which is our third COVID-19 testing facility in the country. We believe that our presence at Boston Logan enables us to play an important role in supporting the return of domestic and international air travel to pre-pandemic levels by making sure both airport employees and travelers feel safe and confident when they come to the airport,” said, Doug Satzman, CEO of XpresSpa.

PHL Food & Shops Partners with Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House to Provide Meals for Families in Need

PHILADELPHIA July 6, 2020 — PHL Food & Shops, the restaurant and retail concessions at the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), joined forces with the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House (PRMH) for its Guest Chef Program on Friday, June 26. Restaurant chefs from various airport eateries prepared and delivered approximately 80 premade meals to families staying at the PRMH on 40th and Chestnut streets.

The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope. One of the many services that the PRMH provides for the families is the Meal Program. The evening meal is a welcome relief for families as they return from a long and often exhausting day at the hospital, which the PHL Food & Shops are proud to help with each year.

In previous years, PHL restaurant volunteers prepared meals on-site for families staying at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House Chestnut Street House. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, four restaurants participated in the program for a one-day meal drop-off. Philly favorites such as La Colombe and Chickie’s and Pete’s participated along with OTG and Jack Duggan’s to provide a variety of delectable dishes — everything from pasta entrees, salads and sandwiches to wraps and decadent desserts.

“We are very proud of our eateries for helping those in need, especially during these unprecedented times,” said Mel Hannah, Vice President and General Manager of MarketPlace PHL. “It is an honor for us to participate in the Guest Chef Program and be able to serve delicious meals to the families at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.”
